25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee

Connect with a competitive cast of quirky spellers in this lively one act musical comedy. Rona Lisa Peretti, a proper judge, flashbacks as she recalls her first triumph as a champion speller and sets the stage for audience participation. Six local elementary and middle school winners advance to the county final Spelling B to compete for the grand prize. Bring your dictionary. Be prepared. Fun in the Planetarium

July 6 - “The Little Star That Could" is a story about Little Star, an average yellow star insearch for planets of his own to protect and warm. Along the way, he meets other stars,learns what makes each star special, and discovers that stars combine to form starclusters and galaxies. Eventually, Little Star finds his planets. Each planet is introducedto your audiences with basic information about our Solar System. July 13 - In the “Seasons Reasons Show” Marvin Short, Jake Jupiter, andLaura Twist tell us about weather, the water cycle, clouds, seasons, constellations,and the moon. Voices for the characters are narrated by voice talent from the TV cartoonseries "Dragonball Z". July 20 - Solar System Tours is a guided tour of the solar system in which students enjoyclose-up views of all the planets on the Sky Theater's dome. Students experience wondersfrom the Sun to the edge of the solar system, including reclassification of Pluto. July 27 - Dinosaur Passage to Pangaea is a stop-motion, 3D animatedadventure explaining one of the greatest geological events in the history of the Earth:the separation of the supercontinent Pangaea. When two children embark on a geologyfield trip back in time, they are thrown into a fantastic voyage where they witnessincredible geological wonders and learn the mysterious process that created ourpresent-day continents. Jay Ratliff Football Camp

This will be our 29th successful year of football instruction.  If you are an experienced football player or just starting football, the Jay Ratliff Football Camp is an experience which you will never forget.  You will return home to your team a better football player. The Watercolor Concentration at UNT became an independent area of study in 2007.  Since its inception, nine painters have gone... on to work on or receive their MFA Degrees.  Four graduates are now teaching on a university level. In 2010, 15 painters took part in the "Niigata International Watercolor Exhibition" in Japan. Students in the program are encouraged to find their own direction, whether that be as a traditional painter or someone who  takes the medium of watercolor into new and exciting territory. This exhibition is dedicated to graduate watercolor painter,  Lisa Tseng (1983 –2012).  Gallery Hours Monday-Friday: 9 am-Noon, 1-5 pm, with extended hours until 8 pm on Thursdays Saturday: 11-3 Sunday: CLOSED

Denton Youth Soccer-Fall 2012

The Fall 2012 Registration fee is $110.  All fees include a complete uniform, (Jersey, Shorts, Socks), a guaranteed Eight (8) game season (we schedule 10), all referee fees, all NTSSA fees and insurance, all Denton Department of Parks and Recreation fees, and all Denton Soccer Associaiton administrative fees. We accept Visa and Master Card, Cash, Check or Money Orders. If paying with Check or Money Order, your payment can be mailed to Denton Soccer Association, PO Box 2265, Denton, TX 76202-2265, placed in the black Locked Drop Box at the DSA Offices, or brought in to the office during posted hours.  If paying with Cash, pay at the DSA Office. We also offer Extended Pay options for your convenience. Teams are formed by age and school/neighborhood area.  Coaches determine practice times and locations.  Unless otherwise requested, players will be kept on the same team core, even if the coach does not return. Fashion positions are exciting and demanding! Apparel designers and merchandisers need to have the ability to lead a team and interpret fashion trends, in addition to being able to sketch, sew, and make patterns or sell, coordinate and manage. The 2012 Wilderness & Endurance Summer Camps are now ready! Black Mustang Ranch offers some of the most unique equestrian small camps in the U.S. for kids ages 9 to 11 and 12 to 18. Registration is on Sunday afternoon. Sessions run from Monday through Friday. Sign up for either week-long day camp or residential. All you do for 5 days is RIDE, RIDE and RIDE! We will visit different parks, up and down hills, crossing creeks, camp-out under the stars, and learn all we need to know about trail riding and horsemanship. Choose one of our horses to be yours throughout that week or bring yours. Below are the programs: Camp 911 - Introduction wilderness camp for ages 9 to 11/June 10-15             Level: beginner to intermediate Camp 1Y - Basic wilderness camp for ages 12 to 17/July 8-13            Level: beginner to intermediate Camp 2Y - Intermediate wilderness.
