The Convention & Visitors Bureau recently welcomed Clancy Hardin to the CVB staff. Clancy is an intern from the University of North Texas School of Hospitality & Merchandising where he is pursuing his degree in Hospitality Management. He will work part-time with the CVB until he graduates in May of 2012. “My ultimate goal is a fulfilling career in the hospitality field, Clancy says. “Even though I have just started working at the Denton CVB, I am very excited about the endless possibilities I am finding on the CVB side of the industry.”

Clancy comes from a strong work foundation and management in food service. He and his wife, Nancy, moved to Denton from Lewisville in 2007. Their son, Brenden, was born at Denton Presbyterian Hospital in February of 2009.

“We love living in Denton and enjoy all the cool events we can go to. A couple of the big highlights of my family’s year are the tree lighting event at the Courthouse and the Denton Arts and Jazz festival.”

Clancy is working in the sales department of the CVB. He is responsible for sales call follow-up, database management, servicing assistance, and CVB archival support. He will play a lead role in helping plan and produce the annual Planner Zone tradeshow in October.

Clancy assists with Meeting and Conventions as well as Sports Marking.
