For more than 21 years, Kim Phillips' career has been dedicated to Texas tourism, meeting planning and destination marketing. In 1989, she got her start with the Del Rio CVB in Del Rio, Texas. She then went on to work as the Convention Sales Manager at the Kerrville CVB bureau from 1995 to 1996. In 1996, Kim established the Lewisville CVB and served as its Director for the next seven years. She joined the Denton CVB as Vice President in February 2003.
Kim is also very involved at the regional and state levels of the tourism industry. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Texas Travel Industry Association and is Chair of the Board for the Texas Lakes Trail Region of the Texas Heritage Trails program. She is a past Chair of the Board for both the Texas Association of Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Dallas Fort Worth Area Tourism Council.

Kim is a certified Texas Friendly Hospitality Instructor and has trained more than 1,000 individuals over the last decade
Kim enjoys community action and serves in various volunteer capacities including community cleanup programs and special events.
She is married to Tim Phillips, Media Specialist for the City of Lewisville. They have three children: Jennifer, age 31, also a UNT alum, Adam 26, and Christopher 20. Kim's hobbies include reading, writing, music, traveling, tennis, and outdoor recreation.
